So, What Did You Do This Weekend?
We steam-cleaned the carpets. It's a job that's been on our "to-do list" for a month, and John decided he didn't want to waste our Saturday, so here we were.

I love it when my furniture is stacked all over my bed!
Then we took the kids to the $3 movie theater to see "Madagascar 2." We couldn't very well stick around the house with wet carpets and no furniture in the right places, could we?

This is How We Homeschool

Taking a page from the "Weiss Homeschool Manual" I like to send the kids out to play as long as the weather is cooperative. They love being outside. During the snow, Hannah was out in the snow every day for hours. Yesterday they pulled out all Dad's extra wood and "built" things--a campfire complete with seats around it, a seesaw, and they attempted a house. And they cleaned up the mess at the end! How's that for creative homeschooling?

Brrr....
I just read Lisa's post about the cold in Columbus. While it is not
-12 degrees here this morning, I have to say my thermometer read 23 degrees. That is cold for the Northwest! And the fog froze into a hard frost. I went out and ran 5 miles this morning. It was brisk, but I actually enjoy being out in the cold. The intersections can be a little slick, so caution is a good idea. The Northwest, with all it's seasons and changing weather, is a great place to live!

Review of "Twisted Peppermint"
I am not a huge fan of Bath and Body Works. I like the idea of it, and the fragrances are fabulous, but I am always disappointed with the lotion. It's not moisturizing enough for me, and I figure for the money, it should be better. But after Christmas, while shopping with my sister, I came across their "Twisted Peppermint" products at 70% off. No mint fan could possibly be expected to pass that up! I've been using the shower gel, lotion and body spray, and WOW! is it refreshing! It actually makes my skin cold. Really, I should probably wait until summer to use it when you need the cooling effect, but I just love the smell! Review: 5 stars
