My Political Soapbox

I apologize in advance, but I don't do this very often, and I wanted to post this quote, which came from the Czech Republic.  Obviously, people who have lived under tyranny are able to recognize it better than we who have lived under freedom.

My Jacks and the Beanstalks

A few weeks ago we had a math assignment to plant bean seeds and then measure their growth.  I figured they know how to measure, so we didn't do that part of the assignment, but they enjoyed visually comparing every day how much their beans had grown.  This afternoon they decided to plant them in the backyard and even put little rock borders around each one.  I doubt they will survive the heat of Texas to actually produce any beans, but you never know.

That is one sweaty kid, who needs a haircut!

The Big Red Ball

My brother's family sent this backyard toy to the kids for Christmas, and we have been waiting until we had a yard to use it in.  Christmas is more fun in May, I always say.  (Not really.)  The kids tie it to the grill on the patio so it won't fly away.

200th Post...and a Buddy

While John was installing the garage door opener, he had a little shadow, who is thrilled to learn all about tools and how things work.  He even showed me how to put the step on the ladder correctly!

Since this is my 200th post, and it's only taken me 2 years to get here, maybe it's time to print a book.  Does anyone know the name of the website that does that?
